Hydro-Logic, as its name suggests, has a strong capability for hydrological analysis. This reflects the expertise of its staff, who combine strong analytical skills with a keen awareness of data uncertainties. This in turn reflects the practical field hydrometry experience obtained by many staff at Hydro-Logic.
Staff are fully conversant with the standard modelling tools such as the Flood Estimation Handbook and their role in prevailing legislation, in particular PPS25 & TAN15. They have also contributed to ongoing research by the Environment Agency to refine the suite of models available to hydrologists.
Particular experience has been gained in recent years with post flood-event analysis, or 'flood forensics' as we have termed it. This involves careful compilation of relevant storm and flow data along with a review of extremes against standard design values. Flood event reports have been prepared for several locations following the 2007 floods and also for the Ottery flooding in October 2008.
