With a unique combination of in-house skills covering hydrometry, engineering design, instrumentation and information technology HL have the capability and experience to provide low-cost turnkey flood warning systems. We have successfully delivered projects on a regional scale for national river regulators such as EA and SEPA plus numerous small schemes for local drainage authorities.
For projects involving the supply of monitoring equipment, HL Consultants work closely with colleagues in the sister ISODAQ Technology Division, who specialise in telemetry systems based on the Isodaq Hawk range of low-cost outstations.
Recent projects have included:
- Supply of integrated telemetry server and outstations for regional flood warning system for SEPA
- Design, installation and calibration of telemetered horizontal ADCP gauges to extend SEPA’s flood warning system
- Design and installation of trash screen blockage warning systems
- Site selection and installation of telemetered river-level gauges in Lower Severn Region of EA as an extension to regional flood warning schemes
- Feasibility of extending flood warning in Critical Ordinary Watercourses in Malago catchment, Avon for EA
- Supply of surveillance cameras for prioritising for clearance of trash at urban culvert grilles prone to blockages for Perth City Council.
