Gauging Station Feasibility and Design
Page 2

Hydro-Logic have many years experience of the feasibility, design, installation, operation and maintenance of flow monitoring stations. In gaining accurate measurement of water courses in the UK (e.g. rivers, streams, canals, drainage ditches) we have applied a wide range of techniques, including:

  • Current meter gauging and ADCP spot flow measurements
  • Rated sections and stage discharge relationships
  • Bed and side mounted ADCP and echo-correlation devices
  • Transit-time ultrasonic systems
  • Adaptation of non-standard structures
  • Hydrometric structures e.g. weirs, flumes (to BS/EN/ISO Standards)
  • High flow rating extension using 1D/2D modelling techniques.
