We provide relevant hydrological services in support of hydropower developments. Our staff can help with the derivation and validation of site-specific flow duration curves to investigate the feasibility of any potential site. These can be obtained directly from flow records or using a combination of modelling tools supported by flow measurements. Many hydropower schemes have a requirement for a Flood Risk/Consequence Assessment. Our staff have undertaken a wide range of these assessments and are thoroughly familiar with the requirements of PPS25 / TAN15 / SPP7.
We also have experience of designing fish passes around flow structures and flood defences, and can offer advice on cost-effective solutions, full fish pass design and uncertainty analysis. Following commissioning of a scheme, Hydro-Logic can provide a monitoring service for validation purposes. In addition equipment can be installed to provide telemetered warnings.
