Water resources modelling is an important tool to plan the use of resources for public water supply ensuring that the water environment is protected from over-abstraction. For UK Water Companies modelling is also widely used to support the asset management planning process under the 5 year AMP cycle regulated by OFWAT.
Hydro-logic staff have acquired expertise in modelling water resources using different types of software and have experience in the UK and in several other countries such as Jordan, Botswana, Namibia, Argentina, China and Samoa. Our modelling capability includes the evaluation of reservoir releases, river flow constraint, changes in abstraction licenses, deployable ouput estimation and model construction. Our hydrological expertise also extends to water balance studies, the extension of river and reservoir inflows, rainfall run-off modelling, control curve calculation and consumptive use estimation.
Our recent modelling experience is based around the AQUATOR package, for which we have formed a working partnership with the developers, Oxford Scientific Software. Hydro-Logic are authorised resellers and trainers for the system.
