Nearly all products we develop are based on
PIC processors, a powerful and well-supported 8-bit microcontroller ideally suited to battery powered remote instrumentation products. PIC processors have a rare combination of code stability and continuous development of new, faster designs with enhanced features and capacity.
Code is developed in ANSI C, using the market leading
IAR embedded compiler, and fully revision controlled using
CVS.
Firmware in the larger PIC processors is flash-based. To take full advantage of this, Hydro-Logic has developed their own remote boot loader, which is used to upgrade firmware over remote GSM or even satellite link, with no need to visit site.
Mechanical design

Hydro-Logic has been long-term users of 2D CAD for mechanical design of enclosures and custom sheet metal parts used with our systems. Recent investment in 3D solid modelling software has further enhanced our design capabilities and rapid concept modelling.
