Experience
Nik is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and Chartered Scientist, specialising in hydrology and hydrometry. He has nine years of professional experience as a water and environmental consultant working on a wide range of projects for public and private sector clients.
Nik started his professional career as a graduate hydrologist with Flynn & Rothwell. He has since worked for Hydro-Logic (Reading office from 1998 to 2002) and Halcrow (Exeter office from 2002 to 2004). Nik returned to Hydro-Logic in 2005 to set up the southwest.
Nik has significant technical and managerial experience as a consultant delivering hydrological and hydrometric services for the Environment Agency, water companies and a wide range of private organisations.
Projects include high and low flow studies, flood risk assessments, feasibility, design and installation of hydrometric monitoring sites, and collection, processing and analysis of hydrological data.
Nik is a tutor on the Environment Agency’s National Hydrometric Training scheme and has developed and delivered a variety of training courses for private clients. Nik also has experience of strategic projects including catchment flood management plans, flood risk mapping, hydrometric business review, network design and hydrometric data user requirements.
As a keen outdoor enthusiast (particularly in fishing, kayaking and wildlife watching) Nik has a great deal of additional knowledge and experience to supplement and enhance his professional knowledge and experience. |
