Clients include consultants, quarries and other mineral extraction companies.
Quarrying
Hydro-Logic completed a Flood Risk Assessment for Passenham quarry, which lies within the flood extent of the River Great Ouse. A hydraulic model was constructed to assess the impact of the development on flood levels. The model has subsequently been used for a number of other tasks, such as assessing the required height of bunds to enable works to continue during flood events and typical river levels adjacent to a silt lagoon.
Hydro-Logic carried out a Flood Risk Assessment for a proposed limestone quarry near Wakerley, Northamptonshire. All phases of the development were considered, including the temporary storage of overburden and restoration of the site over an extended operational period.
Mineral extraction
Hydro-Logic has undertaken numerous FRA's for Hanson Aggregates since 2003, utilising the experience of Dr Paul Webster to advise on flooding and hydrology of proposed mineral extraction areas. Projects include the extension of quarry operations, infilling of lakes and the assessment of discharge from sites. Work has included site visits and survey, consultation with the Environment Agency and detailed analysis of the proposed changes on all aspects of flood risk. |
