ADCP

ADCP IntroductionADCP Introduction
Duration: 2 days
Aimed for users of  TRDI ADCPs and WinRiver software application, both the Rio Grande and StreamPro variants are covered (as required). Covers all aspects of their use, both practically in the field and theoretically in the office. Users learn techniques of data collection, validation and processing. Using ADCPs to measure discharge has become a standard in many organisations; this course assists users in the correct deployment and a range of techniques for getting the best out of their equipment and software.

ADCP Advanced
Duration: 1 day
Aimed for those familiar with deployment of TRDI Rio Grande and Streampro devices and who seek greater understanding of the capabilities and functionality. Entirely classroom based but draws heavily on actual field data sets to reinforce the issues. Training will address the wide range of applications that ADCP data can be used in and some of the more advanced functions of WinRiver.
ADCPs are increasingly used for river, stream and other open channel flow measurement due to their relatively low costs, ease of installation, low power requirements and their minimal environmental impact. This course provides an introduction to the principles of flow measurement using ADCPs, applications, attributes, limitations, installation requirements and the analysis and processing of the recorded data, including the velocity index method of calibration. Mainly office based but will include a field visit to inspect an installation and download data.
