Page 1 of 2 TRDi model - Rio Grande Workhorse ADCP with RiverBoat The Rio Grande ADCP is an accurate, rapid-sampling current profiling system designed for gauging larger rivers and higher flows using a manned boat or tag-lined RiverBoat flotation craft.
The Rio Grande ADCP plus RiverBoat system comes complete with either a pair of radio or Bluetooth serial port modem for real-time data transfer back to the PC operating TRDi’s WinRiver software package. The benefits of using the Rio Grande ADCP for river gauging exercises are considerable: Reduce river gauging times by a factor of about 10 e.g from 50 mins to 5 mins
Measures water profile in sections from 0.3m to 50 metres depth depending on frequency selected.
Bottom-tracking feature measures velocity & bed profile together from the surface
Detailed profile results produced almost instantaneously
Vastly increased velocity sampling reduces uncertainty of gauged result
Ideal for low and high-flow gauging in one instrument
Deployed from a manned boat, cableway or using the RiverBoat floatation device
Easy deployment of RiverBoat by rope - either from a bridge or across a river
