Hydro-Logic and the FSD Consortium wins 'TEAM OF THE YEAR' award from Severn Trent Water
Hydro-Logic is part of a consortium presented with the 'Team of the Year' achievement award in the Minor Works category at a dinner hosted by Severn Trent Water.
The award relates to a flow monitoring project undertaken for the water company to review and upgrade monitoring facilities at sewage treatment works, required under the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive. The award was presented to Field Systems Designs Limited (FSD) who is the overall project manager as well as providing specialist electrical services.
Hydro-Logic provide flow specialists for surveying the existing flow monitoring facilities to assess their compliance with prevailing standards. Where facilities are found to be non-compliant, recommendations are made for the necessary remedial work. These may be relatively minor such as the relocation of measurement devices, or may require the replacement of primary devices such as flumes or weirs and are undertaken by others in the consortium.
Following completion of the remedial work, flow specialists from Hydro-Logic survey the facilities and issue a certificate for satisfactory compliance. From 1st January 2004 Hydro-Logic will be auditing such installations under the Environment Agency's MCERTS quality certification scheme.
Hydro-Logic has been involved with the project since May 2002 and has completed surveys at over 100 sites.
