SEPA choose Hydro-Logic's low-cost telemetry solutions

Providing SEPA with low cost telemetryThe Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has recently taken delivery of two low-cost telemetry solutions developed by Hydro-Logic. As part of two flood warning telemetry contracts, a range of field-instrumentation, data acquisition and flood warning systems were supplied to the western area office based at East Kilbride.

Telemetry installation sites in ScotlandThe first of these contracts involved the supply and installation of seven Hawk XT outstations, both PSTN and GSM versions, at key sites on the River Clyde, Kelvin and Irvine. At five of these sites the Hawk XT provides the telemetry link for RD Instruments H-ADCP ChannelMaster Flowmeters which were also supplied under the contract.

The second contract was for twelve telemetry loggers connected to tipping-bucket raingauges, from which alarms are required to be forwarded during occurances of heavy rain. All the telemetry polling and alarm forwarding tasks are managed by Hydro-Logic's Isodaq FEP6 Telemetry Master Station that links directly to SEPA's Hydrological Information Management System.
