Flow Monitoring at Helix Park (Falkirk) for Scottish Canals

08/07/2015

Hydro-Logic Services have recently completed the installation of a Mace FloPro meter integrated with a telemetered Frog RXi Datalogger to monitor flows into the lagoon at the Helix Park in Falkirk. The project is a joint venture between the helix Park and Scottish Canals to monitor the abstracted flows from the nearby Forth and Clyde Canal which feeds water into the lagoon which is a popular visitor attraction in the area being frequented by tourists and local residents.

Key reasons for our award of this project were our track record in delivering similar flow monitoring solutions across the UK. The technology used for this particular project is well established and has been rigorously tested in the field and offers a discrete and low powered solution.

The flow data is recorded and uploaded onto the Timeview Telemetry website, where Scottish Canals can download the data and view the historical abstracted flow record into the lagoon. This data can then be used to show compliance with the current CAR licence for this site.
